Just when it can’t get any worse, it does. Her late husband’s financial dealings in the City of London have made a great loss and Grace is liable. She’s about to lose everything that’s dear to her. Grace has to make money, and fast. But to make that money, in the time frame she has, is almost impossible. Money doesn’t just grow on trees... Or does it? Matthew, her dope-smoking gardener, realises that if she loses the house, he’s out of a job. He and Grace formulate a cunning plan born out of desperation. |
Champion orchid-grower Grace, with the help of Matthew, decides to turn her state-of-the-art greenhouse into a marijuana plantation. The villagers catch on immediately, even the Women’s Institute seems to be developing an unhealthy interest in the contents of Grace’s greenhouse. But this is Cornwall and the Cornish take pride in their traditions of smuggling and contempt for the law, so the villagers of Port Liac conspire to help Grace in any way they can. Can gardening and contraband be turned into cash? Desperate times call for desperate measures. |
