Mickey and Louise Savage are the King and Queen of the speedway set, a world of motorbikes, rock n roll, classic cars and alcohol. But after two kids and 20 years of hard rockin’, fuel-injected marriage, the wheels are starting to fall of their relationship.

The tattoo inked onto Mickey’s arm says that he and Louise are “together forever”. But recently he’s been on a one-man mission to party till he drops - as Louise points out, they just don ’t work as a
team anymore.

Unfortunately, the reigning chaos in the Savage household allows Louise little time to address the problems lying at the heart of their marriage. Her 20-year old son Dean is threatening to firebomb his
ex-girlfriend’s wedding. Mickey is filling the garage with stolen goods again. And pierced teenage daughter Leesa is an accident waiting to happen on the family’s beloved Triumph motorbike. Only Louise’s alcoholic but eagle-eyed mother-in-law, Maisy Savage, recognises the depth of
Louise’s discontent.

In a last ditch attempt to re-ignite their romance, Louise suggests they head off to their favourite seaside spot for a second honeymoon. Mickey eagerly agrees when the cops start nosing around the house, and they hurtle off together in the night.

But Mickey and Louise’s romantic weekend degenerates into a riot when the rest of the incorrigible Savage family gatecrash the honeymoon and create mayhem at the camping grounds. Starved of the attention she craves, Louise packs her bags and leaves Mickey and his eternal party, only to find herself tempted by the unsolicited affection of another man.

Mickey is finally forced to confront his demons in order to win back the only woman he has ever loved.

Savage Honeymoon is an earthy comedy in the tradition of “The Snapper” and “The Castle” about a tough family battling to survive in a dysfunctional culture armed with the only weapon they have - love.
