Party Animals Drama series   »           «
From the makers of This Life and No Angels, power, politics and sexual intrigue collide in a new BBC drama series.

Set in the frantic, high-stakes world of government, Party Animals follows a group of young researchers and advisers who shoulder huge responsibility in jobs where social alliances and sexual intrigue go hand-in-hand with policy making. We see the drink and drugs, the sex and scandals, the low pay and disrupted social lives, and all this from people who genuinely want to make things better!

Michael Gambon

Like most twenty-somethings, Scott, Danny, Ashika and Kirsty spend much of their day worrying about love, sex, friendship and paying the rent.

Unlike most twenty-somethings, the rest of the time they’re worrying about running the country... Scott and Danny Foster have politics in their blood.

Danny is the devoted researcher to junior minister, Jo Porter. But times are tough. The government is in crisis, Jo’s struggling with a difficult home life and Danny is caught in the crossfire. Add to this, the distracting presence of scheming intern Kirsty, and Danny is about to make an almighty blunder.

His brother Scott is following a lucrative career in lobbying, but with the government in decline, Scott’s schmoozing and contacts list are looking a little dated. When his boss challenges him to secure new friends in the rising opposition party, a chance lunch with Ashika, chief advisor to James Northcote, presents an opportunity that Scott is only too happy to pursue.

Ashika herself is at a crossroads. James Northcote may be tipped as future government material, but she’s tired of living in his shadow - and there are rumours surrounding their relationship. So when she is approached to fight a local election, Ashika has to choose between future power with James and the chance to strike out on her own.

Danny’s blunder and a scurrilous rumour set in motion a chain of events that changes all their lives forever.
