  Orange Roughies- a TV drama series based on an elite Police and Customs inter-agency task force working undercover on the frontline of twenty-first century policing – border security.

One step removed from the usual ad hoc inter-agency groups, the Roughies are very much on trial and depend for their survival on their own do-it-yourself attitude. They are, as their brusque Commander, Ron Maddock, constantly reminds them, under-funded, under-resourced and under the hammer!

   Orange Roughies poster   Operating out of an unmarked waterfront base, with an inflatable patrol boat and a couple of 4-wheel drives, each episode finds the team pitting themselves against a multiplicity of threats. Whether it be Chinese Triads smuggling kidnapped girls, undercover industrial espionage, police corruption or drug trafficking, the Orange Roughies must put their private lives and personal differences aside in the pursuit of criminals and justice.   Inflatable boat

Lead by the resourceful Detective Sergeant Danny Wilder, The Orange Roughies team is made up of Senior Customs Officer Jane Durant, Detective Constable Zach Wiki, Agriculture and Forestry officer Noel Bullerton and, in later episodes, Danny’s former girlfriend, detective Chloe Meachen.
