and she retaliates by picking up a stranger to teach him a lesson. Bradley experiments with butane gas, but comes down in time to realise how much he cares about Jillian. Eventually they are reunited and decide to go back home together. Freda – a recent graduate from an exclusive girls’ school – is in her parent’s holiday apartment overlooking the beach. She waits for her two friends – Yolanda and Amanda – to arrive in their chauffeur driven limousine. But they are having trouble with their lecherous driver and end up hijacking the car. |
When they finally arrive at Freda’s apartment they are shocked to find that it has been taken over by the biggest party on earth and that Freda has fled the madness. Calvin and Hobbs are on their way in a clapped out old Holden. Trying to break the land speed record, they lose control of their car and smash into a billboard on the side of the road. They decide to hitch–hike but unfortunately are picked up by the crazed psycho nutcase from hell! |

Each of these characters is trying to make sense of the world and their journey to the coast is one of self–discovery. But Pete is the only one who actually makes it to the beach. Here he meets Freda and a new friendship is born as the sun rises on a new day. “Blurred” shows the potential of young people their resilience and their humour as the innocence of childhood is burned away in a blaze of alcohol and drugs, sexual confusion and the severing of the bonds of the schoolyard. |
